JF - Journal of Surgical Sciences JA - JSS VL - 9 IS - 4 SE - Articles DO - 10.33695/jss.v9i2.584 UR - https://journalofsurgicalsciences.com/index.php/jss/article/view/584 AB - There is no doubt that at present percutaneous drainage for liver abscesses is the treatment of choice and surgery should be kept as a backup only in cases where there is no response. Generally, the response to the treatment is dictated by the underlying pathology that has generated the abscess as a result of which a non-symptomatic etiological treatment must be followed by the optimal use of the available therapeutic resources. The discussion of this article focuses on the therapeutic options available in order to obtain an optimal treatment depending on the etiology of pyogenic liver abscesses.  ER -
