Abstract

Various risk factors are associated with early surgery in a patient diagnosed with Crohn's Disease, such as tobacco use, disease localization, fibrostenotic phenotype, and early use of immunomodulatory therapy or high-dose glucocorticoids. Age, sex, location of the disease, duration, and presence of granulomas all have a different impact on postoperative recurrence. Apart from smoking other factors have not been established that could affect recurrence. Our study aims based on a specific group of patients to evaluate the impact on the frequency of surgical relapse of age, smoking status, and living environment (urban or rural).
